Info
The Ratt Archives is a digital exhibition that maps the unbroken lineage of student activism at Pratt Institute, from the anti-war protests of the 1970s to the current solidarity movements for Gaza. The experience unfolds as a spatial metaphor: it begins in the digital "Library," where archival student drawings, news clippings, and correspondence establish the historical foundation. As the viewer navigates toward "Dekalb Hall," the ambient soundscape swells with recorded chants and protest sounds from Pratt's past, layering history with palpable presence. The Pratt Cannon serves as a pivotal interactive, firing a nationwide report on campus disruptions (1968-69), linking Pratt's story to a national moment. The journey culminates at the "People’s Gallery for Gaza," featuring contemporary art-builds and digital solidarity encampments—transforming archival memory into immediate, collective action. This exhibition uses the digital space as a new ground for assembly and witness against the ever-growing wave of online censorship.
