Info

Reconciliation is a music festival and architectural installation staged within the hallowed interior of The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine. It is a rite for the rising stars we lost too soona space where their silenced potential is resurrected through collective celebration. The intervention is a singular, monumental block inserted into the cathedral's vertical axis, acting as a mediator between realms. Its top surface becomes the main stage in the nave, its core contains an intimate, club-like chamber, and its extrusion downward carves a resonant void in the crypt, creating a subterranean dance floor. A semi-translucent floor in the main chamber allows those below to see the silhouetted movement of the crowd above, creating a haunting, symbiotic connection between the living and the commemorated. The roof of the installation is a luminous transmutation of the cathedrals rose window, refracting light and raising the gazeand the experiencetoward the sublime. Reconciliation transforms the cathedral into an instrument of collective memory, where architecture conducts a symphony of the music we almost heard.
